You’ve just gotten your Benefit Verification letter from Social Security. You may send your Medicare info NOW to Amanda Wells at KCSD! (lest we forget!)

 Dear Retirees, 

It’s that time of year again! If you haven’t yet, please submit your 2025 Benefit Verification Letter by May 15, 2025. This will ensure that you receive your check in June as usual. If you are receiving reimbursements from the District for your spouse, please also submit a copy of their letter. 

These letters were mailed out by Social Security in December or they are available on your “My Social Security Account” at www.SSA.gov. If you do not have a copy and no access to your online account, you may call the Social Security Office at 1-800-772-1213 to request one be mailed to you.

If you are not collecting Social Security Income at this time, you may send in a copy of your bill that you receive from Social Security for Medicare Part B. 

Documentation is only required once a year by May 15th.

Linda will be selling the book at the Not-Back-to-School Luncheon at Stonehedge on September 5 at 11:30 a.m.

Linda Monfette greeted many of the KTF Union members who helped her gather information that helped her create the The Fight for the Right, a book outlining the 80-plus—year history of the Kingston Teachers’ Federation at the NYSUT Kingston office on May 24.

Among those attending were, from left, Ana Rodgers, Linda Monfette, Barbara Kleckner-Surowitz, Richard Davis, Gene Amorelli, Al Stein, Kathy Werner, Bruce Gross, Joy Gross, and Lauri Naccarato. Also attending were Anna Brett, Donn Avallone, and Transcriber Judith Emilie. Donna Nägeli and Eileen Bradley were also on hand to assist Linda.

KTF History Book Presented at March Mtg

Former KTF Presidents Lauri Naccarato and Stu Spoljaric were in attendance at the KRTF’s March meeting.


Linda Monfette presented her book on the history of the Kingston Teachers Federation at the March general meeting of the KRTF.

NYSUT Member Benefits is pleased to announce the availability of the premium Calm subscription as a free benefit for all NYSUT in-service AND retiree members.

NEW AND IMPROVED KTF WEBSITE READY!

To all current KTF, ESP, and KRTF members: it is with great pleasure that we announce that our new and improved KTF website is now ready for members to register and get acquainted with the site. Our new site brings a wealth of new features, along with improved means of communicating with our members. You are invited to register on the site by going to www.ktf1.org and clicking on the Register tab at the top right of the site. You will be prompted to fill out a short but detailed registration form and then once approved, you will have full access to the site.

Please note members will need to know their NYSUT ID# as a means of identification for our registration process. You can find your number on your NYSUT ID card. If you don’t have a current card, you can visit www.nysut.org and click on the Login tab at the top right of the site. At the bottom of the drop-down menu, you will see I Need My NYSUT ID button. Click this button and fill out the information to receive your ID# and other information from NYSUT. If you have trouble with this process, you can email Bruce Cobb at admin@ktf1.org and request assistance.

Please DO NOT use your KCSD email when registering for this site; please provide a personal email. We are also asking for your cell number so that important information and updates can be sent via text messaging.

Our current site will no longer be in use as of August 26, 2023. Please know that we are working hard to provide all our members with the best means of communications and access to important information, etc. The new site will be continuously updated, and we encourage our members to utilize the site as needed.
