1943- KTF is formed

1967-KTF wins vote to represent teachers in bargaining

1972-NYSUT is formed, replacing the Empire State Federation of Teachers

1972-AM Pickets: June UPS refuses to cross picket lines to deliver the NYS Regents exams. Contract Settled!

1974-First American Disabilities Act (ADA)-Designation of Special Education classes, class size, etc.

1980’s-Moore Sick Day Bank formed

1992-ADA re-issuance

1997-KTF assumes control of health insurance benefit. Trust is formed to control benefits and costs.

1998-Superintendent takes away Medicare Part B payment. All retireees submit affidavits re: have always receive it. PERB hearing: Part B is restored.

1998-Teacher Mentoring program created.

2000’s-Occupational and Physical Therapists (4 yr) recognized in teachers’ contract.

2018-State declares that teacher evaluations shall not be tied to standardized test scores.
